By His wounds we are healed.
I’ve always loved Ron DiCianni’s work, but this painting impacts me in a powerful way. He IS risen and holds the keys of death!
“Oh, death, where is your sting? Oh, Hell, where is your victory? Oh Church, come stand in the light!”
Luke 24:6-7, “He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:
‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ”
I Cor. 15:3-8, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.”
Romans 4:25, “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
I Peter 3:8, “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;”
Romans 5:6, “For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.”
